I’m glad you found this part of the internet. I grew up in the tiny town of Carthage, NC and most recently moved to Durham, NC where I’m figuring out what I want to be when I grow up. I spent a few years as a public teacher and the advice I gave to kids everyday recently resonated with me: decide what to be and go be it. With that, I quit teaching and decided to pursue a career in a different direction.
I’m figuring out what it’s like to pay bills while taking risks. I’m learning that a few little mistakes don’t make me a screwup. I’m getting used to the idea that quitting doesn’t mean giving up. And most importantly, I’m figuring out how to use what I know to do something I love.
To those of you I haven’t met yet: thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope you’ll stick around. To those of you who listened to me cry over the past 26 years: know that you make me happy every single day.
